1 Day

Details of the Location:

Ban Muang Kham Herbal Therapy Center is a community enterprise group formed by elderly people and unemployed individuals who engage in health therapy activities using local wisdom. They incorporate traditional body therapy techniques, such as herbal steam baths (chicken coop spa), foot massage and foot soaks with herbal boiled water, traditional Thai massage, Lanna-style acupressure, knee wraps with termite mound clay, and processing local herbs grown by the villagers. Additionally, the termite mound clay is used as an innovative food and cosmetic ingredient, which has been researched and developed by Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai, to further design and enhance it for the community.
Moreover, the community also offers tourism activities linked to the Hiranya Wat (Hiranya Vihara) or Wat Phra San Mueang Daeng Noi, where visitors can admire the beauty and grandeur of the Phra Sing Saran Chana Mar, a giant Buddha statue crafted from bamboo, which is the largest of its kind in the world. The statue is enshrined in a temple hall made entirely of bamboo. Furthermore, for those interested in spiritual tourism, don’t miss the chance to see and pray at the Phra Lak Lae (Hidden Gaze), a sculpture from Bagan, Myanmar, which is rare to find.
