About the Café
Doi Chang is renowned as one of the best Arabica coffee-growing regions, and it is the birthplace of Abonzo Coffee, founded by Mr. Phatrachai Mongkolkulphongsai. His dream was to support the Akha people by creating opportunities for them to improve their quality of life. Through this initiative, he has provided jobs for villagers and local youth, helping them add value to their natural resources.
The name “Abonzo” comes from the Akha language:
- “Abo” refers to grandfather,
- “Zo” was the name of the founder’s grandfather, the first in the family to grow coffee.
He passed down his knowledge to his son (Ada) and later to the third generation, Mr. Phatrachai, who further developed, processed, and refined the coffee into what is now known as Abonzo Premium Arabica Coffee, delivered with care to coffee lovers worldwide.
