The Mae Suai Reservoir (Mae Suai Dam) was constructed in 1998 under the Mae Suai Irrigation Office’s initiative. The dam was built at a mountain pass on the northern side of this peak and is located in Village No. 14, Ban Den Phu Wiang, Mae Suai Subdistrict, Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province.
This large and picturesque reservoir, surrounded by mountains, collects water from the Mae Suai River and is primarily used for agricultural irrigation. The Mae Suai Irrigation Office is responsible for managing and overseeing the area.
Visitors to the Mae Suai Reservoir can enjoy dining at local floating restaurants or rent rafts to admire the stunning views of the lake. Additionally, within the Mae Suai Dam area, there is the Phra Maha Chedi Phra Borommathat Khum Wiang Suai, a sacred stupa located atop a high hill. Every year, a traditional water-pouring ceremony is held in reverence of the stupa, attracting many worshippers and visitors.
