Luckswan Resort began operations on December 9, 2006, founded by Dr. Watchara Techathirawat and Mrs. Orawan Techathirawat. They recognized the potential and opportunities in Chiang Rai, particularly during the International Horticultural Exposition, which was taking place at the time.
As a result, they decided to establish a 36-room resort featuring a modern Lanna-style atmosphere, surrounded by a variety of flower gardens. The resort quickly gained popularity among both Thai and international tourists, becoming one of Chiang Rai’s first resorts in the Lanna style.
With its exceptional service, Luckswan Resort provided visitors with the opportunity to experience nature and the cool winter breeze, making it a favorite destination at the time.

Development and Expansion
Over time, Luckswan Resort has undergone improvements and expansions to better accommodate conference and seminar groups. As Chiang Rai has gained strategic importance in cross-border trade and received government support to become a business conference city, the resort has expanded its conference facilities and accommodations.
A new Residence Zone was constructed, along with a large, uniquely designed arched dome conference hall, the only one of its kind in Chiang Rai. The “Kinnaree Hall” was inspired by European-style domes fused with Lanna-style architecture, making it a landmark venue for business meetings and events.
In addition to well-appointed guest rooms, the resort offers fully equipped conference and banquet halls. Spanning over 9 rai (14,400 sqm), Luckswan Resort provides a range of modern amenities, including:
- A large parking area at the back of the resort, within walking distance of Wat Rong Suea Ten (the Blue Temple).
- Ratchapruek Restaurant, featuring a traditional Northern Lanna-style ambiance, serving breakfast from 6:30 AM – 10:00 AM, followed by à la carte dining and room service.
- A swimming pool, free for hotel guests and available to external visitors for a fee.
- Complimentary bicycle rentals, allowing tourists to explore the surrounding area with ease.
